Why I Hate Ulta

I hate Ulta!!! Why you ask..??

Is it because of the RUDE salespeople..?

Is it because of the bonus cards they 'tote' that really don't provide any bonuses at all?

Is it because their representatives are severely under trained?

Is it because the majority of the Ulta's I've visited all carry different lines from one another?

Is it because they only really have sales on their OWN brand?

Yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes!!!!!! There are plenty of other reasons, but these are the reasons that come to mind as of right now.

Just the other day I had the 'pleasure' of visiting a new Ulta, and my experience was just the same as the other times.

Why do I keep going back you ask..??

How can I NOT...??? It's similar to a Sephora, but their in house brand is so much BETTER than the Sephora brand. Plus they always have a sales on their brand!! haha!!!

On my recent trip to Sephora this is what I bought:
The minute I walked out of the store I immediately regretted my purchase. I went into Ulta to buy some brushes from their in house brand, but once I saw their prices I decided I should just buy the brushes from MAC instead. Not wanting to leave empty handed I bought these goodies above. So why did I regret my purchase..? 1. I received a gift card to Sephora for X-mas, that I could have used to buy these goodies. 2. I could have received my free bonus goodie from Sephora if I would have purchased these there because this would have put me over 100 points.

lol You live. You learn!!!!

Sally Girl

I've been on the hunt for the brand Sally Girl, since reading about it on Sofeeahh's blog. I wasn't able to find this at the Sally's near my house, but on a recent roadtrip near my hubby's job I found a Sally's that carried this line. These are the goodies I bought!! Sally Girl Lip Color in Manic on top. Sally Girl Eyeshadow Quad in Gum Drops & Power Trip on the bottom. Gum Drops

I was really impressed with the pigmentation of these quads!!! I won't say that these are the best quality, but for .99 cents each I really think they are worth a shot!!!

I love this time of year!!

I don't love this time of year because of the holidays, but because of all the new releases makeup wise. =) I took some paparazzi type pictures at Ulta and Target the other of some of the new goodies I spotted.

I saved the best for last!!! I managed to 'feel up' on a few of these brushes and I am really impressed with the first impression!!! The foundation brush reminds me very much of my MAC foundation brush!! I should have bought a few brushes from this line, I will make sure I do next time I 'spot' them.

Have you seen any of these goodies in your local drugstore..? Will you be trying any of these goodies.? Do you get excited when you spot new goodies too..?? I'm like a little kid when I do. =)

This is yet another non beauty related post..I didn't get to relax much this weekend, so my mind isn't very beauty centered at the moment.

Just like any teener bopper, us grown ass women can develop crushes!!! One of my crushes is Ryan Gosling, yes it's because of the Notebook. So what..???? The movie was GREAT!!!!!!! I just saw this video from his band Dead Man's Bones and I love it!! It's so haunting...yes it's kinda goth..so what..haha!!!

Kool Aid Smile!!

I've heard the buzz about the new Cover Girl Lipstains a few months ago, but from what I had first heard this line wasn't supposed to come out till January. Well a few weeks ago a few of you blogger ladies mentioned seeing these marker-like lippies available at drugstore.com and CVS. This week I managed to get my hands on 2 of them, trust me I didn't want to buy just 2, but I found them a few days before X-mas and I needed to smart money wise.

CoverGirl Outlast Lipstains. There are 10 colors in this collection. The two I bought are: Wild Berry Wink (top) Cinnamon Smile (bottom).

On Christmas Eve since I HAD to work I decided to get into the spirit and wear some bright holiday lips. Here's the Wild Berry Wink on me.

Quickie Review: I absolutely LOVE these stains!! The color pay off on them is AMAZING!!! And they are very affordable, I paid $8 each, but I'm sure you can get them for cheaper at Walmart. The only con is that this stain can be a bit drying, but all you need to do is apply a clear gloss over the stain once it dries, and you're all set!!

Have you tried these lipstains..? Do you plan on trying them..??

With all of the craziness of the holidays coming up I haven't gotten a chance to read this book from cover to cover as thoroughly as I would like to. I am super excited to have this as a part of my collection though. I was thinking of making a post with each chapter of this book and the highlights of it, what do you think? Would you be interested?

My Secret Santa and a Naughty Elf!!

While I was at work during this massive snow storm that the East Coast was having, my hubby was home and was able to tell me that I had two goodies waiting for me when I got home!! All he did let me know was that one of goodies WAS from my Secret Santa!! Woo-hoo!! So I had to wait what felt like YEARS to get home to open up them up!!

This is what I came home to:

The red envelope is from Naughty Elf L, she's been quite busy lately surprising us ladies. This is what she sent me!! How great is she?!?! btw--you need to teach me how to apply lashes!! I've never worn them before. lol

Chiara Shine was my secret santa!!! YAY!!!! I opened my gift on BlogTV and she was there to watch me!!!! I love, love, love what she sent me!!! The wrapping paper also smelled like this BEAUTIFUL perfume, that I MUST have!!! Plus she included some Hershey Kisses, white and milk chocolate..which is a little freaky because those are my FAV!!

Two Faced Glamour to Go!! I've never tried Two Faced before, but I KNOW I'm going to love it!!! I was actually drooling over a palette with almost these exact colors the other day, so glad I didn't buy it!! Look how pretty!!!! I stuck my finger in a lip gloss before I took the picture, sorry!! lol

I was going through my camera and I found these two pictures I wanted to share with you ladies. The first picture was taken on Thanksgiving and I am with my niece and nephew. It looks like I'm not wearing any makeup at all in this picture!! Agh!!! These two are such cuties!!! I swear my nephew looks like my mini me, but my niece and I have very similar personalities.

This picture was taken the other night, Dom playing in the snow. I swear the hubby wasn't holding him down IN the snow, he was making sure his crazy butt didn't jump over the balcony. Crazy kitty!!

For some reason I really don't like Neutrogena foundations, I can never find my color. I always end up looking orange!!!

FYI--Going to Mitsuwa AGAIN tonight..need to get some Mandom makeup remover for my mom..lol and I will also be buying some for a very special winner too. That means I'm having a contest!! =)

Mitsuwa Haul

**Warning!! I wrote a lot more in this post than usually do..lol

Without you lovely ladies I wouldn't have a clue about a lot of beauty products. Especially Asian products. Thank you for tempting me with these dangerous goodies..lol

The AMAZING Pink did a post a little while back about her visit to Mitsuwa that intrigued me. I had a general idea of where it was, but I didn't have a strong interest in Asian goodies..yet!!

Now I do!! And why is that...?? Because of all the WONDERFUL reviews I've heard about the Mandom Makeup Remover. I ignored the buzz at first, but after a bit it just could not be ignored!!! So I planned and plotted my trip to Mitsuwa. Now my problem with going there is that I had no idea what half the items were. The English label is on the back of (some) of the bottles. I could have stayed there are day drooling over it all, but I didn't want to torture the hubby since I HAD to go yesterday. I anticipated the non English problem and asked Pink for advice on what I should buy, and of course she gave me an awesome list, I bought it all! Thankfully she didn't give me a long list, because I'm afraid I would have bought that all too..lol

Despite me having a list of things to get, of course I looked at everything I possibly could in the 45 minutes I was there. FYI--Even with my list it took me FOREVER to find what I was looking for. I learned after 20 minutes to stop looking at the bottles for the names, but the price tags on the shelf instead.

So enough with the blabber..here's what I bought:

Left to right: Naris egg peel, Shiseido perfect whip cleanser, Mandom Makeup Remover, and Lucido wax for waves/curls. I did buy a few other things, but they are for my secret santa. =)

I can proudly say I know what all the hype is about now when it comes to Mandom Makeup Remover. Holy crap!!! One swipe and my mascara was gone! GONE!! Not a trace!! What the hell?!?! I am in love, love, love!!!!! And yes it really does feel like water like everyone says, but BETTER!! Sometimes you rinse your face with water and your face gets a little tight. This leaves the moisture on your skin. I am certain I will be using this on many weekend nights when I get home too late and don't want to wash my face. You need this in your life!!

I am also LOVING the Shiseido cleanser too. You have to use a teeny, tiny amount because this stuff foams like a mofo!!! It feels so good on your skin, not drying at all!!! Something about it just calmed my skin, this crazy weather has had it so irritated lately, but two washes with this and my face feels/looks great!!

Guess what else..? I love the egg peel too..lol I don't think I applied enough though on my first try and I wasn't able to peel it all off and I had to wash some of it off. That's ok though! My face usually gets so irritated with peels and that wasn't the case with this. I'll do a review on this once I've applied it correctly...lol

I haven't used the wax yet, but when I do I'm sure I will love it!!

I'm not sure if you ladies have these near you, but the hubby and I also went to an H-mart yesterday. Again I was amazed at all of the goodies they had, I was also a little annoyed to since they sell DHC there. I was obsessed with their cleansing oil and olive oil until it started to make me break out. When I would order from DHC it would take me weeks to get my goodies, how did I not know all I had to do was drive 5 minutes to get it.??

Coastal Scents Palette

I finally bought an item from 1 of my lust lists..lol. I make those lists of things I want, but I never end up buying them!! haha!! This time I couldn't resist, Coastal Scents was having a 25% off sale on Black Friday and Cyber Monday so I decided to take advantage of it.

I've heard a lot of great things about the blushes from this brand and they have been compared to MAC blushes often. I only own 1 MAC blush, and the one I do own is Devil from the Manish Arora collection and the color #4 in this palette was almost an EXACT dupe. The entire palette is the price of 1 MAC blush, so I have to say I did get a really good deal. Another dupe I noticed is color #10 reminds me a lot of the popular contouring blush that everyone uses from MAC and that's Emote. Color #9 is a dupe to Pink Raspberry from the Bobbi Brown Collection.

That list is completely out of order..lol..but you can see what's what. The glow baby glow lipglosses are worth the $10 as it is!! I love these!! They're like the Covergirl Amazemint Lipglosses but better!! They don't make your teeth look whiter, but they give you minty fresh breath!! Other than then the glow baby glow I haven't tried anything else that was in the box. I'm really excited to try the Mark cleanser and lotion, I've heard some really good things about them.

So far I am LOVING this conditioner, the consistency is similar to that of Sebastian's Potion #9. I used this last night and my hair is so SOFT and really wavy. My hair is so soft I refused to tie it back this morning, so it's loose and I look like "a Brazilian" according to my coworkers. I know they meant that in a nice way, but the first thing that came to mind was being bald...haha! Dirty Mind!!!
